VGNecro.com, okay so we all know it is the premier site for Vanguard Necromancers to come and be their evil dead loving selves. Meet other necromancers, trade grafts, exchange information, get tips on how to be a better necro, etc. But the real question is, who are those weird guys that run this site? Well hopefully this section will enlighten you.

And who are these VGNecro people?

Lifebane (Site Admin)
A bit about myself I suppose is in order. First off I am an online game fan from way back when, dare I say back in the MUD days. But then one day I played this game that changed it all for me, Ultima Online turned this online gaming thing into what future MMO's would be. I have jumped around through most every MMO that has been made and have currently been spending my online time in Vanguard.

I have been involved with similar sites in the past though, between running various guild related sites to partnering with a friend on the now defunct necro.eqclasses.com (aka eqnecro.com) I actually began all of this class site business by simply writing up the things that people would ask me repeatedly in game, basically explain it once and put it where others could find it. Less in game stress for me hehe. Anyway, long story short, that evolved into doing what I have for necromancers in EQ and now in Vanguard. Of course nothing I have done would have been of importance if not for the necromancer communities that formed around these storehouses of necro lore.

I am currently the Vanguard Necromancer Class Leader, replacing the much honored Scarcius. An honor and a privilege really to be able to try to help out the community in a more official way, although still being able to do what I always have and how I have always chosen to do it. Nuff said.

Jonaphin (AKA The Code Monkey)
I have been coding sites and internet applications for companies for years now. I tend to be a very funny French guy who always has something humorous to say, even if at the least opportune times.. oops. I partnered with Lifebane to create VGNecro.com on a whim when we both noted the lack of a necromancer specific class site for Vanguard. My thinking was that with Lifebane's experience at this kind of thing and with my coding skills, well something good had to come of it. We'll let you all decide how much truth there was to that.

While I am not as involved in gaming as Lifebane is, I still get my gaming fix through MMO's when time permits. I have played WoW, Vanguard (briefly), LOTRO, SWG, and various pvp style FPS games.

Some time early in this sites development I was branded with the nickname of the Code Monkey, a name which I have grown fond of and laugh at every time I see it. The community members are great and have made this project a lot of fun. Ummm. vote Ron Paul!

VGNecro.com was created to be THE location for the vanguard necromancer to come to when they needed information or simply wanted to discuss their class with other like minded Vanguard Necromancer players. While the initial framework and content was born from the twisted minds of Lifebane and Jonaphin, the site and the community itself have been a major factor in what the site has evolved into.

So how do you all make this site work?

Well now, the site itself is basically run and funded by Lifebane and Jonaphin. As you have seen there are some banner ads and such but the revenue generated by them is minimal due to the volume of traffic that a class specific one game site generates. We have not asked for nor received any kinds of donations or outside funding previously but since we have been having community members ask, we have setup a method for community members to help support the site and it's continued existence as well as possible upgrades and hrmm... future incarnations :)
