One of our VGNecro community members Laelith took it upon themselves to write up a guide on how to work on the lvl 50 Quested Armor sets over in Thestra around the Flordiel Riftway. The following guide was written and submitted by Laelith with only slight modifications by myself. Thanks a bunch for the helpful guide!

There are 2 sets available : a rare and an ultra-rare / Heroic
Step 1: You have to craft your rare set :

You will need 10k faction with one of the 3 given races and you also need to be lvl 45.

To get the ring to get faction raising quests you will do one of the emissary quests.

The Emissary will give you a quest that reward you with a ring. If you cant find him go loc 43k, 74k in the Ruin falls chunk - follow the road east from the altar- and then talk with Warden Mendent, he will give you a quest that points you to your chosen emissary.

Very important : note that all this part is optionnal since you do not need this quest at all for the armor. It just unlocks more quest for you to raise faction

The best way to raise faction is to grind crafting work orders in Elanil! You will be rewarded +500 Faction for each Work Order completed for the chosen faction taskmaster..... beat that ;o)

Armor quest givers :
Ichtakhta ARMOR : Stockpiler Gelmitz (loc -17,000, 24,900 in Itchakhta chunk)
Gorgalok ARMOR : Veregeth (
loc 12,000, 15,900 - Vsurog Moor chunk)
Flordiel ARMOR : Telnie (
loc 29,000, -25,000 - Flordiel chunk)

For every armor piece you need to complete one quest. The quest will require :

* raw armor piece (NO TRADE for most, tradable for arms, belt and wrist. Dropped by creatures of the opposing factions)
* a trophy (tradable)
* one or more sub component (most are tradable if not all - i need to check 2 more before being sure)

SUB COMPONENTS (exact same for all 3 racial armor, they drop from all 3 racial beings unlees you see a specific name next to em) - you can buy em on broker :

HEAD :
Residual Chaos Energy x 1
+ Spore Beast Membrane x 1 (sporebeast mobs)

CHEST :
Core of EZIGOTH (Arch Magus HEGNERIAN)

SHOULDERS :
Leech Barbs x 1 (Muckwater mobs)
+ Nihilistic Storm Particle x 2

ARMS :
Warped Wind Essence x 2

WRIST :
Fragmented Wind Essence x 1

GLOVES :
Warped Wind Essence x 1

BELT :
Fragmented Wind Essence x 2

PANTS :
Nihilistic Stom Particle x 3
+ Fungal Arcane Bulb x 1 (Mnalus & Myconids)

SHOES :
Résidual Chaos Energy x 1
+ Undamaged Fungal Fiber x 1 (Mnalus & Myconids)

TROPHIES (at broker too) :
uncommon drop , you will need one per quest.
Ichtakhta armor -> TORN GORGALOK HIDE (drop from gorg mob)
Gorgalok armor -> FLORDIEL TREE PULP (drop from flordiel mob or harvest from living trees)
Flordiel armor -> ICHTAKHTA CHITIN FRAGMENT (drop from itcha mob)

RAW ARMOR DROPS
commons (tradable) drops from most mobs in the selected town (guards, roamers etc ...). Others drop from some named and last, rares (pants and robe) on 4h respawn named (very specific ... gonna list later)
Raws for ICHTAKHTA armor drop in Flordiel
Raws for GORGALOK armor drop in
Ichtakhta nest
Raws for FLORDIEL armor drop in Gorgalok

When you complete a quest, hand it to the npc you got it from and tadaaaa here is your rare armor.

Once you complete your piece or pieces you can then go about upgrading it to the ultra-rare / heroic level by doing the following:

you will need nothing else than a 45 outfitter and gold :p

Each race have his own set of recipe available when you have 10k faction from a npc for 9 silvers.
2 recipes per race :
- common recipe
- special recipe

Common recipes upgrade all slots but robe and pants
Rare recipes upgrade robe and pants

The crafter will make you the item you need, sell it to you and you will have to use an assembly table with the item provided by the outfitter and your own rare armor piece you previously made.
Hit combine and .... Tadaaa here is you ultra rare armor

Also note that even before you complete anything, as soon you hit 10k faction, all armor assembly recipe for that race appear in your assembly book. So you can get a nice preview of all the item you going for ;o) .... oh and of course you will notice that some Rare pieces are better than the upgraded version Mr. Green Mr. Green

Stats for these sets are as follows:

Flordiel:
Rare set
Ultra Rare / Heroic set

Gorgalok:
Rare set
Ultra Rare / Heroic set

Ichtakhta:
Rare set
Ultra Rare / Heroic set

not really a comment but a question, ive been trying to get the Floridale breastplate off of Tishra in Vsorg Moor but she is always "invaild target" non attackable after killing the 3 blood guardians. is Tishra bugged or is there something else that has to be done to be able to attack her?

thanks a bunch =)

Yes she is bugged, it has to do with the event as a whole and the devs are working on a fix. Until then you'll just have to wait for server resets. The first spawn after reset works but after that it's possible she got broken.

Killed Tishra last nite, robe dropped. Have at it brothers and sisters

this is fine armor, but it's so cookie cutter, nothing but damage focus crit and damage rating. To be honest, sure it's nice to have done but i'd rather go with my crafted gear and the tehatamani stuff cuz spell haste and regen are important to. not to mention my spell damage focus is maxed out between my weapons and my robe alone

one thing i will say, is having all the chest piece effects along with raids will be more then useful come raid content, those are great abilities i'll give them that.
